2018/19 Regional Convenings

Equal Opportunity Schools hosts regular regional convenings to inform superintendents, principals, and school and district leaders about our program. If you are interested in learning more about the application process, contact us at marketing@eoschools.org to attend an event.

Nov 30, 2018 – Glenbard Township High School District 87 will be hosting their every other year “Ignite” event, customized for building level leaders (dept. chairs, API’s, teacher leaders, etc.). For more information on this event, contact the Glenbard’s Superintednent’s office, Glen Ellyn, IL

Jan 16-19, 2019 – David Larson, Superintendent of Glenbard Township HS District 87, will present on the district wide EOS-Glenbard partnership at the Midwest Superintendent Conference, Marco Island

Feb 14-16, 2019 – Dr. Chris Belcher, of Equal Opportunity Schools, will be hosting a pre-conference workshop with Dr. Matt Degner, Iowa City Community School District, Ed Winchester and Terri Verhaegen, Santa Ana Unified School Districts at the AASA National Conference on Education, Los Angeles, CA

2017 National Symposium for Equity and Access

The Symposium for Equity and Access, supported by the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation, is an invitation-only forum with conversations focused at the superintendent and district leadership level.

This year, over 100 district educators attended and heard from industry experts, peer panelists, and EOS leadership on best practices to close the equity and achievement gaps. You can find videos of the sessions on our YouTube channel.

2016 National Symposium: Lead Higher

The inaugural recognition convening brought together district leadership to solidify their commitment to enable secondary schools to fully reflect their diversity at the highest academic levels; and to elevate our national conversation about low-income students and student of color beyond achieving proficiency to academic excellence.
