We can all agree that today’s high school students are facing a lot. After all, they’ve just come through years of disrupted learning in the midst of a global pandemic. There’s more and more data to suggest social media is having a dangerous impact on their mental health. And, for low income students, the strain is even greater.

They need our help more than ever.

Each year, nearly a million students are overlooked and excluded from advanced high school courses. Outdated systems determine which students have access to these classes and leave far too many young people behind. As a result, they are unable to reach their full potential. This could, and often does, impact the rest of their lives.

Equal Opportunity Schools is changing that.

Every student deserves the opportunity to succeed. Over the past 13 years, we’ve developed a way to help them do that. We have partnered closely with over 800 schools all across the country and are working to understand what drives students. Our analysis helps determine how schools can tap into students’ aspirations and aptitudes. By better understanding students’ unique interests and abilities, educators can then match them with the right opportunities and enable them to excel. At the same time, we work with educators to plan for increased course offering and to make enrollment more successful.
