Understand performance, identify gaps and improve outreach with EOS
Supporting students towards college and career readiness requires districts and schools to be effective at understanding their students, identifying hidden potential and engaging in outreach. The EOS Portal provides:
• Cross-district reports on advanced course enrollment and opportunity
• Custom filters to drill into insights from key groups or individuals
• Survey tracking tools ensure you’re getting needed insights annually
• Customizable tools to review trusted adults, student quotes & outreach plans
District-wide reports on advanced course enrollment and opportunity
EOS provides automated reports to help you track advanced course enrollment progress, set goals and identify opportunities. Our two most popular include:
- The Opportunity Chart which tracks advanced course enrollment by student group against your set goal.
- The Fall Enrollment Capacity Analysis Chart helps you plan enrollment efforts, helping you match available space against students you encourage to enroll.

Custom filters to drill into insights from key groups or individuals
Managing data points across hundreds or thousands of students is hard, but the EOS platform makes it easy to unlock district-wide or school-specific insights.
Devise outreach plans for low-income students who specifically express interest in advanced courses, or build a plan to engage middle school kids who are unaware of the value of taking Algebra 1. You can:
- Choose or create data filters to segment groups of students and staff or to get the individualized data that can support your efforts.
- Share data views you’ve created with your team for easy collaboration that supports your efforts around student outreach and advocacy.
Survey tracking tools ensure you’re getting needed insights annually
Students are so much more than their test scores and GPAs, but for most districts and schools, these are the primary data points used when assessing advanced course readiness, creating an immediate barrier for many students.
EOS lets you blend your district’s standard student data with survey responses for a more complete understanding of each student.
- Track survey progress and changes in real-time at the school level or district wide.
- Add enrollment data by connecting your district’s Clever platform instance or securely pull in data using EOS’ bulk upload tool.
- Take advantage of the powerful blended insights into each student with the Student Insight Card.

Customizable tools to review trusted adults, student quotes & outreach plans
Enhancing student outreach and advocacy is a key part of the EOS value proposition.
First we help district and school leadership to identify hidden student potential for rigorous coursework. Then we provide data, tools and advisory support to help you conduct more effective student outreach.
- Students report Trusted Adults within your school community to help you identify people best-suited to engage students.
- Save and share student quotes and other data visualizations with Trusted Adults or other staff to help them build outreach plans.
- Monitor progress with tools like the Interactions tab that lets Trusted Adults report progress on their outreach efforts.

"EOS has presented data collected from our school and from our students in a clear, blunt, and effective manner… Seeing these problems has forced us to examine our policies and ideas that creates gaps between subsets of our students. It then allowed us to create new policies and partake in work that positively impact those students most hurt by our previous practices."

I think with EOS, what it really did for our staff and students was changed how they took the approach to enrolling in advanced courses; removing just looking at prerequisites or what your grades are, what your GPA is, but really looking at your passion and your drive and what your plans are post secondary.
And I think that that's so important -- looking at the entire student way past your previous GPA, or behavior history, but really what are your goals as an individual? Where do you see yourself once you leave high school? And what can we do here to set the tone for you so that you can accomplish that; whether it's a four year university, two year, or trade school, we want to set you up on the best trajectory for that.
I think the EOS program pushes your thinking and challenges you to be a bit more creative in your approach to how you work with students, and how you get them to a level academically that they didn't feel that they could achieve. And it's great, because I've always been told you can use the same recipe, however, the way you change the outcome is the amount of energy, the love and the time you put into something, and I think EOS brings us to that energy, that time and love we put into educating our students."

Equal Opportunity Schools began our partnership with the city of Chicago District 299 in the fall of 2017 with six public schools. We have since grown to 45 schools and a total of five cohorts.
Despite a global pandemic, remote learning, and racial tensions throughout the nation, schools have persevered in the work of breaking down barriers to increase access, belonging, and success in rigorous college and career-prep secondary school courses for underserved and under represented students.
