Our story

Our journey started in 2010 with the insight that advanced courses help prepare students for post-secondary pursuits, but access barriers and enrollment standards focused on test scores and GPA unintentionally limit access and opportunity.

Every year, hundreds of thousands of students, --particularly those from undeserved and underrepresented communities— miss out on courses that can positively impact their futures and save them money by reducing the credits needed to finish college.

Simply put, we want students to have the opportunity to build the life they want. Our data and shows that opening access to rigorous coursework pushes students to success in both school and beyond.

Our Theory of Change
83% of students want to obtain a college degree, yet 60% feel they don’t belong in AP, IB, AICE, or DE curriculums.

Our Value Proposition

Equal Opportunity Schools strengthens educator and system leader capacity to break down barriers to increase student access, belonging, and success in rigorous college and career-prep secondary school courses.

We deliver an integrated solution that seamlessly blends student and staff insights, proprietary data tools alongside expert advisory and training. Our work helps district and school leaders to enhance belonging, boost access to and success in college and career-prep courses while supporting staff development.

Our work expands opportunities for all students –particularly those from undeserved and underrepresented backgrounds—to thrive in their post-secondary pursuits.

We support districts
and schools nationwide

EOS has partnered with more than 900 schools in over 250 districts across 35 states to identify and enroll more students in advanced courses.

We collaborate closely with districts, schools, and teachers to help achieve key district priorities by delivering data-driven insights, hands-on training, and exclusive tools.

I was glad I took AP.

As you catch on, as you’d practice more, you start understanding it more, and it’s something unique. It made me feel like that, at the end of it, I gained a lot of knowledge and liked the vocabulary, because it was really different compared to honors, especially the way the teacher talks.
