Rani’s passion for educational equity and empowering students of underrepresented identities stems from her experience growing up in both India and the socioeconomically diverse area of South Seattle.
Before arriving at Equal Opportunity Schools, Rani worked with Rainier Scholars, an academic enrichment program supporting low-income students of color with their goals of college graduation. Her commitment to equity is also reflected in her work with the National Network for Immigrant and Refugee Rights, where she supported the Women in Migration Network—a transnational committee of women who seek to address migration through a gendered lens. She also honed her skills at the Silicon Valley Leadership Group, where she was responsible for creating social media content and assisted with event planning and organization.
Rani graduated magna cum laude with a BA in Communication and Women’s & Gender Studies from Santa Clara University.
