Partnership Director, Equity Leader Labs
Jonathan graduated from the University of Washington as a Community, Environment, and Planning major in the University of Washington’s Urban Planning Department. At the University of Washington, he founded a student organization to build recognition about the Duwamish Tribe’s lack of federal recognition. Also, while at the UW, he developed a theory using mathematics to explain the role of authentic empowerment in strengthening communities.
More recently, Jonathan came to EOS from the Tukwila School District. He began as an instructional assistant as well as a parent of children in the district. In making the effort to advocate for all students as if they were his own, he transitioned to the role of McKinney-Vento Liaison as the director of the McKinney-Vento Program. As a district leader, Jonathan was able to witness the need for improved racial equity practice in the public school system.
On his time off, Jonathan volunteers with the International We Love You Foundation by participating in street cleanups, blood drives, and other volunteer services with his church.
