Dr. Wanda E. Brown brings over thirty-five years of public school experience to her Partnership Director position with Equal Opportunity Schools. Dr. Brown worked in a variety of roles before her retirement in 2012 with the Columbia Public Schools in Columbia, Missouri. She was an English teacher, high school assistant principal, middle school principal, high school principal, and an assistant superintendent for secondary education. As an assistant superintendent, she was responsible for the students, staff, curriculum, and athletic program for ten secondary schools.
After retiring, she worked as an independent educational consultant helping districts to implement middle school programming and diversify the teaching force by recruiting at Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The common thread throughout her extensive career has been her passion to provide access, equity and excellence to all students. She now brings these years of experience, ideas, and enthusiasm to Equal Opportunity Schools.
She received her B.A. in English Education from William Woods College in Fulton, Missouri and her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
