EOS is a recipient of Microsoft Corp.’s Nonprofit Tech Acceleration program for Black and African American communities

Seattle, WA – December 15, 2020 – Equal Opportunity Schools (EOS) today announced it is a recipient of Microsoft Corp.’s Nonprofit Tech Acceleration (NTA) program for Black and African American communities. The Seattle-based nonprofit is one of the organizations selected for support of its digital transformation initiatives. In partnership with more than 600 schools nationwide, EOS helps ensure that students of color and low-income students have equitable access to rigorous high school programming to be poised for success after graduation.

Equal Opportunity Schools is featured on X4Impact and is aligned to the UN SDG #4 Quality Education and UN SDG #10 Reduced Inequality.

X4Impact offers insights to create and scale technology for the public interest (Tech4PI). Built on Microsoft Azure, it uses the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) framework to aggregate challenges, ideas, solutions, over $2 Trillion in money flow, and 80+ million pieces of aggregated knowledge from trusted sources.

Equal Opportunity Schools Announces Two New Board Members

Seattle, WA – Today, Equal Opportunity Schools, a Seattle-based national nonprofit announced that Joanne Harrell (former CEO of United Way of King County and Microsoft’s current Senior Director of U.S. Citizenship and Market Development) of Seattle, WA and Eric Weaver (formerly of Intel Corporation and currently Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer at the Universities Space Research Association) of Columbia, MD have officially joined the Equal Opportunity Schools Board of Directors. Their 3-year terms began August 2020 and end September 2023.
