The state-run school district was accepted into a competitive national program that will enhance Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate programs for high school students, the district said Friday. Called the Lead Higher Initiative, the program is spearheaded by the nonprofit Equal Opportunity Schools, in partnership with International Baccalaureate and the College Board, and in support of My Brother’s Keeper Initiative by former President Barack Obama. It’s also supported by the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation, Tableau, and Google.
