Our multi-component solution helps district and school leaders to increase access, belonging, and success in rigorous college and career-prep coursework.
Three elements combine to improve access and opportunity for your middle and high school students:
1) Student and staff voice insights

3) Expert coaching and program facilitation.
Increase participation in advanced courses
Powerful insights help you see the whole student.
No two school districts are exactly alike, and the same goes for your students.
We blend traditional test and GPA data with information on student aspirations, learning styles, perceived barriers and more.
Understand what makes each of your students tick and use these insights to help more students reach their potential by increasing participation in advanced courses.

Data and outreach tools
The EOS portal provides data that helps you stay on top of overall district or individual school performance.
District administrators, school principals and staff can also access proprietary tools that help to identify students who are ready for advanced coursework, and the trusted adults best suited to support outreach.
Coaching and Program Facilitation
We pair your schools with EOS partnership directors who act as consultants, coaches and program facilitators who are deeply invested in your success.
These experienced educators collaborate closely with your staff to help you set goals, acquire and verify insights, and execute your outreach plans.
They also deliver training or workshops that help staff understand common student barriers and ways to address them, plus support staff in becoming trusted adults and more effective student advocates.

"The progress we've made in two years at our school is undeniable. You can see that reflected in our numbers, and there's more room and more work to to go. But our students tell us they want to go to college and community college, and we want them to be prepared. EOS gave us the tools, EOS gave us the skills, and EOS gave us training, resources and support to make a difference in our school."

I think with EOS, what it really did for our staff and students was changed how they took the approach to enrolling in advanced courses; removing just looking at prerequisites or what your grades are, what your GPA is, but really looking at your passion and your drive and what your plans are post secondary.
And I think that that's so important -- looking at the entire student way past your previous GPA, or behavior history, but really what are your goals as an individual? Where do you see yourself once you leave high school? And what can we do here to set the tone for you so that you can accomplish that; whether it's a four year university, two year, or trade school, we want to set you up on the best trajectory for that.
I think the EOS program pushes your thinking and challenges you to be a bit more creative in your approach to how you work with students, and how you get them to a level academically that they didn't feel that they could achieve. And it's great, because I've always been told you can use the same recipe, however, the way you change the outcome is the amount of energy, the love and the time you put into something, and I think EOS brings us to that energy, that time and love we put into educating our students."

Equal Opportunity Schools began our partnership with the city of Chicago District 299 in the fall of 2017 with six public schools. We have since grown to 45 schools and a total of five cohorts.
Despite a global pandemic, remote learning, and racial tensions throughout the nation, schools have persevered in the work of breaking down barriers to increase access, belonging, and success in rigorous college and career-prep secondary school courses for underserved and under represented students.
