The Education Trust
Kayla is a policy analyst on the P-12 Policy team. She conducts data and policy analyses related to trends in opportunities and student outcomes with a focus on identifying and remedying disparities. Prior to joining The Education Trust, Kayla worked at the National Women’s Law Center, where she conducted research and data analysis on critical issues that impact women and girls.
While there, she led a team to produce a well-publicized report, Let Her Learn: Stopping School Pushout for Girls. She also co-authored a report with 20 Black girls in Washington D.C. that outlines the harmful effects of dress codes on girls’ learning outcomes.
A native of the Bay Area, Kayla holds a master’s degree from Teacher’s College, Columbia University in education policy, and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Wellesley College.
