Fulshear High School
Dr. Erin Forbes is Associate Principal at Fulshear High School in Lamar CISD – a fast-growth suburban district west of Houston. Dr. Forbes has spearheaded Fulshear’s three-year equity journey with EOS, resulting in a rapid increase in underrepresented students’ participation in AP and a 90% retention rate for AP enrollment. Dr. Forbes facilitates a variety of teacher thinktanks and collaborative teams focused on supports for students in AP and in reaching their post-secondary goals. Dr. Forbes is passionate about understanding the experiences of her students and has helped Fulshear High School bring Restorative Practices to classrooms and administrative procedures. On the district level, Dr. Forbes designed new district-wide systems for discipline which promoted consistency and a more equitable discipline of secondary students.
Dr. Forbes earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Houston-Clear Lake with a research focus on the integration of arts into STEM programs (STEAM). She has led Fulshear HS as Associate Principal for four years, has a total of six years of administrative experience in high school, and has eight years of experience as a middle school art teacher. As a former arts educator, Dr. Forbes is passionate about educating the “whole child” and encouraging creative solutions to educational problems.
