Baayan Bakari is the Co-Founder of the Kingmakers of Oakland, a nationally recognized educational consultant organization with expertise in racial equity with contracts with school districts nationwide. He has been a leader in professional development training, youth development and rigorous cultural curriculum design for over 20 years. He brings not only his entrepreneurial skill set but also a conviction that with the right tools we can overcome America’s original sin. An award-winning independent filmmaker and winner of the 1996 Echoing Green Fellowship for Social Entrepreneurship in Education, he continues to serve as a compelling thought leader and trainer in mentoring, cultural curriculum design and delivery and racial equity.
