Leadership Orientation Role Descriptions
This work cannot and will not happen without effective leaders who are committed to the following partnership role expectations:
SUPERINTENDENT
The Superintendent is responsible for the districts decisions, program implementation, and success of students.
SUPERINTENDENT
• Set and uphold clear expectations for staff.
• Plan with District Lead to ensure adequate allocation of resources to support increased AP/IB participation.
• Make time for check-ins with your Partnership Director (PD) and progress reports from your District Lead.
• Provide feedback and guidance to District Lead, School Principal(s), and School Site Lead(s) when necessary.
• Communicate questions and concerns to your PD.
DISTRICT LEAD
The District Lead could hold a similar title to: Assistant Superintendent, Equity Director, Secondary Education Director, etc.
DISTRICT LEAD
• Monitor progress towards partnership goal.
• Schedule monthly meetings with Principals, Site Leads, and PD.
• Serve as liaison between PD and schools, and between schools and district.
• On a regular basis, meet 1:1 with school sites to ensure work is on track.
• On a bi-weekly basis, meet 1:1 with PD.
• Identify the District data lead and facilitate fulfilment of data needs.
• Provide feedback and guidance to School Principal(s) and School Site Lead(s) when necessary.
• Communicate questions and concerns to your PD.
SCHOOL PRINCIPALS
The School Principal has local jurisdiction over their high school.
SCHOOL PRINCIPALS
• Establish a school site lead to manage the process.
• Communicate and reinforce the vision of the partnership to all key stakeholders.
• Work with the PD to establish a clear vision for the work and its importance.
• Work with the PD to establish a staff communication plan.
• Be available for monthly in-person meetings with the PD, and for check-in calls between visits.
• Provide feedback and guidance to School Site Lead(s) and equity team when necessary.
• Communicate questions and concerns to your PD.
DATA CONTACT
DATA CONTACT
The Data Contact should have the following access and skills:
• Ability to write queries on the SIS to produce data files requested by EOS.
• Download and edit data files in Microsoft Excel (or other programs) so they match the format requested by EOS.
• Upload csv files to the EOS portal and make changes based on error messages.
• Be in contact with District Lead about progress/deadlines.
SCHOOL SITE LEAD
The School Site Lead could hold a similar position to one of these: Assistant Principal, IB or AP Coordinator, Curriculum Director, etc.
SCHOOL SITE LEAD
• Develop and manage equity team to carry out the work.
• Ensure timely completion of key deliverables.
• Craft an outreach, support and sustainability strategy.
• Complete survey administration to all students (all grades) and staff by Oct. 31.
• Present Equity Pathways survey findings to staff.
• Create and implement an outreach plan for meeting with and enrolling students.
• Develop Staff & Student Support Plans.
• Provide feedback and guidance to equity team when necessary.
• Communicate questions and concerns to your PD.
EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT
The Executive Assistant needs to have direct access to the Superintendent and their calendar to schedule phone calls and meetings with the assigned EOS PD.

• Direct and immediate access to the Superintendent and their calendar to schedule PD check-ins.
• Assist the PD in coordinating scheduled visits.
